Should Christians Eat Meat or Be Vegetarians?

Whether Christian vegetarians are doing the right thing or merely doing too much on their path has been an area of interest for many. There are probably a few reasons why we have Christians Vegetarian but in this article, I focus on whether Christians should eat meat or be vegetarians . Certainly there  is nothing wrong with eating only vegetables but it may become an issue if the one who eats only vegetables by choice considers him or herself better than those who doesn’t or those who eat meat.

This clearly makes us to understand in Romans 14:2-6 that:

One person has faith that he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats vegetables only. The one who eats is not to regard with contempt the one who does not eat, and the one who does not eat is not to judge the one who eats, for God has accepted him. Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. One person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind. He who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and he who eats, does so for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who eats not, for the Lord he does not eat, and gives thanks to God

If you decide to be a vegetarian, go ahead but don’t condemn others who are NOT.

Romans 14:23 “And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.”

I am NOT by any means a vegetarian but I must admit I have found one or two importance of eating vegetables, of which I do when I am on a fruit fast or veggies only fast.

Advantages of Being A Christian Vegetarian

And God said , Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. (Genesis 1:29)

  1. Eating meat (flesh and other meals alike) can weigh down on the body especially at night
  2. Meat can stay on the body for days before totally digesting but fruits can digest in a matter of hours.
  3. Eating vegetables and fruits during a fast can help keep the body light and keep your antennas up
