Gambling is Unscriptural & Spiritually illegal

Gambling is not God’s system, we are to trust & believe in Him for breakthrough – even financial breakthrough. Gambling is like saying “life is by chance” but we know that life is not by chance. Gambling is for those who do not know God or even have a relationship with Him and not for those who claim to know God. If you think you can gamble and play the lottery – trusting in luck, you have got it all wrong.

Warning Against Quick Money!!

The Bible does warn us to stay away from the love of money (1 Timothy 6:10; Hebrews 13:5) and attempts to “get rich quick” (Proverbs 13:11; 23:5; Ecclesiastes 5:10). In this case, gambling is focused mostly on the love of money and is undeniably tempting. “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil (Timothy 6:10). Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” According to Hebrews 13:5 “Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’” Matthew 6:24 also says “No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.”

Cursed Money

Much of the money won through gambling is already cursed and will not bring you a harvest. There are many people who play the lottery, many of them are dishonest and some actually work for the devil. They can plant their money in hopes of getting real money through playing while money that has no value (spiritually) is transferred to the one that wins. There are just different kinds of people who play with different motives and intents, many of them wicked intents. It may look like you won alright, but at the end of the day you may not be able to explain what you used the money for, how it went, or what happened to it. It will vanish!!

Proverbs 13:11- Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.

Luck is NOT of God

You are either blessed, ordained and made for a purpose OR you happened by chance (luck). If you believe in luck, then you believe everything that happened to you was not even in God’s plan, it happened by chance. But this ought not to be so.

Are There Exceptions?

God can use anything to touch the lives of people, but you shouldn’t make it your God. You shouldn’t depend on it. Let God make the choice as to what He wants to use to bless you because when that happens you can be rest assured that whatever God gives you is blessed, but if you rely, depend and continue to play in hopes that that is where you source is, you have missed the mark.

Ephesians 5:15–17 Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is.

It is God’s will that matters so understand His will concerning you in any matter!! Howbeit, know that God can bless and increase a person through many ways – ways that have absolutely nothing to do with gambling. Trust in God!
